Game Day Food Favorites

I wish I could say that we were going to the Bama game this Saturday, but sadly we're not. I'm most sad because it seems like tailgating food is always the best.

I'm thinking that I'll go ahead and whip some of these things up, however, for Blake and I to watch the games at home so I thought I would share a couple of my favorites! Roll Tide!! (and go Gamecocks...I have to say that now, but NEVER when they're playing Alabama!)

First up...Easy Turtle Candies

This is literally the EASIEST recipe (and cheap!) and everyone loves them. Preparation time is about 5 minutes and you bake them for 4-5 mins so if you're in a rush, this is a great thing to bring!

You'll need:
1 Bag of Pretzels
1 Bag of Rolos
(I like to top mine with another pretzel, but you can also top it with M&Ms, nuts, ect.)

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
2. place pretzels on cookie sheet and add one rolo on top of each pretzel
3. Bake for 4-5 mins. (be sure not to let the rolo melt completely...it's best for it to still keep its shape)
4. When you pull them out of the oven, add another pretzel on top and gently press down
5. Serve immediately or let cool for 5 minutes

Since you'll already have the pretzels, add a bag of milk chocolate and white chocolate mosels to your grocery list and make chocolate covered pretzels or pretzels sticks

You'll need:
1 Bag of Pretzels
1 Bag of Milk Chocolate Chips
1 Bag of White Chocolate Chips

Directions:
1. Melt each bag of Chips in separate bowls in the microwave (I cook for 1 minute, stir, cook another 45 secs, stir and if additional time is needed I do in increments of 45 seconds so it doesn't burn)
2. Dip pretzels in chocolate and place on a cooling rack or parchment paper
3. Let sit for 5-10 minutes
4. If you want to decorate drizzle the chocolate over the pretzels (i use a spoon or a ziploc bag and cut the corner off)

You can get as fancy as you want with these...

On to the Dips...

Literally, this is the BEST DIP IN THE ENTIRE WORLD! If you are going anywhere this weekend where you need to bring a dish, trust me on this one...it's amazing!!

Corn Dip...

You'll need:
1 Bag of Frozen Corn (I like the white and yellow mix bag)
1 package of Philadelphia Cream Cheese
1/2 stick of butter
2 Tablespoons of Jalepeno Juice
2 Teaspoons of Diced Jalepenos (in the pickle aisle)
(Optional 1 bag of cheese...I never use this though)

Side Note: On this one I always double all of the ingredients when we go to a party or have people over for dinner, but this is the smaller version.

Directions:
1. Melt butter and cream cheese separately in microwave for one minute each.
2. Combine all ingredients together in a bowl and stir well
3. Place in a Pyrex or other baking dish
4. If you decided to add the cheese sprinkle over the top completely
5. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and bake for 30 minutes

Serve with Tortilla Chips.

Next up, one of my all time favorites...

Houston's Spinach Dip

This recipe is the best I've found, and I LOVE spinach dip! You can find the recipe here. It can be a bit tedious, but it is SO SO good!!

Don't forget your chicken fingers either!! Happy Game Weekend! :)
