My new favorite thing!

Are you guys watching this season?!

Every season I either get into this show or I don't...this year I'm 100% in! I was so disappointed when I heard Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez were coming on, and now I could kick myself...they are the BEST addition!!

They both have the biggest hearts, and I love how sweet they are to all of the contestants. When they had to send Chris Medina home last night (a guy who was engaged to a girl who got in a horrible accident 3 months before their wedding...she had severe brain damage, and he has stayed with her as her care taker) Jennifer completely broke down. The show continues tonight on that note, so I'm looking forward to how it all plays out.

Last night was by far my favorite episode (the last judgement before the top 24 and Beatles week). I really don't like the Beatles, but I absolutely loved all of the contestants last night!

My favorite by far is this guy, however...

Paul McDonald! Have you heard of him?! Oh gosh, he has the most beautiful voice! I met him a couple of times because he's a friend of a friend in Alabama, but apparently his original band, the Grand Magnolias was getting pretty big even before this. Go YouTube him if you haven't heard him sing...just type in Paul McDonald American Idol "Blackbird"...simply amazing!

Anywho, if you're not watching, you should be! It is SO good this year!!

So glad the creators of the show are smarter at choosing the line up than I would have been...

Get Excited...LOOK WHAT'S HERE!! :)

I've gotten so many comments about my friends at Aman Stovall that I had to share with you their brand new Fall 2011 Line!!

And the amazing duo behind the brand!

As soon as I saw the pictures I texted Brent and asked him when and where they will be available...I'll let you know as soon as we find out, but until then...here's a little preview of the GORGEOUS line that I am dying to buy!!

My absolute favorite piece in the entire collection is this black, lace cape to the far right...I'm in LOVE with it! I think it is so unique and so beautiful, and you could do so much with it!

I pretty much want the entire collection...

Especially all three of these...and somewhere to wear them too, please! :)

And how stunning was their model?!

I absolutely love this stage in life because you get to see so many of your friends take off in their careers and become so successful.

I love that they chose one of our classmates and their good friend, Bek Kaplan, an up and coming stylist for the shoot...she is so precious and so talented!!

Adorable!

All of their hard work has paid off, and I cannot wait to see them succeed!!

Now it's time to celebrate, guys!! If I had a bottle of champagne I would pop it in your honor!

Congratulations Brent and Mary Catherine!!!

A HIKE and sweet "baby E"!!

Saturday morning we woke up and headed to Paris Mountain for a hike...and I mean a HIKE. I've got sore muscles in places I never knew existed...

It was quite possibly my favorite thing we've done in forever. It was the most perfect day, we had a coffee in hand and we had great company.

I was a tad worried going with two boys (my husband and brother-in-law) without any girls (NIKKI!!!) for fear that I would completely embarrass myself, so I pulled up the tail-end in case I fell or did anything stupid :)

And we were off...

about 1/16th of a mile in we got to this and I thought to myself, "Oh fantastic! I can handle this kind of hike"

It even had a little hill to climb that I THOUGHT was the "hard part"...

and it ended at this beauty...or so I thought.

We took a few pictures and I thought to myself, "Well, I know I asked Blake to take it easy on my first time, but geez, I didn't know he was thinking THIS easy...I think I can handle this hiking stuff..."

That was what I'll just go ahead and call my "blissful thinking" stage.

I asked, "Is this it?" as to which I immediately thought I should have kept my mouth shut...

"Oh no...we can keep going if you want to" Blake said

"Oh sure! Fantastic! Let's go!!" I said out loud, only hoping to gain a little love from my husband who thinks I'm anything but outdoorsy...I'm on a mission to change that! :)

So we kept on...

and on...

and then he yelled, "HOW YOU DOING BACK THERE?!"

He had to say it loud...I was so far away...

"GREAT! NEVER BEEN BETTER!!" I yelled back thinking what the h*** am I doing out here?!

Finally, after what felt like 16 miles up hill at a 90 degree angle I finally called for a time out...and a picture of course.

If only you could have seen an EKG of my heart at this point...

I've never felt that thing pounding against my chest so hard and so fast in my life...

We finally made it to the top...not to mention level ground.

And apparently I did gain a little love...

We had the best time, and I've never felt better after finishing that thing!

I was so excited the boys let me go...I love hanging out with the two of them!

Next time, however, I will make Nikki cancel her plans so that she can come with me!

That afternoon I was so beyond excited to go see sweet little Baby "E"...also known as Adelyn! Does she look familiar?! You've probably seen her here.

I was so in Heaven! She seriously is the sweetest, most beautiful baby!! I couldn't take my eyes off of her :)

And I loved seeing my sweet Megan!! Isn't she gorgeous?!! We met in 3rd grade when she was the new girl, and I played with her long, beautiful hair during story time. haha!

I love her!

And I love her new little bitty angel just as much!!

Have you ever seen anything sweeter in your life?!

A golf outing...

Sunday we had planned to go straight home after our fun weekend in the mountains, but when we picked up Tucker (our other dog) in Greenville from Blake's parents' house, we saw how GORGEOUS it was outside, and we knew we had to do something!

So we headed to the golf course...

We hadn't seen a pretty day in MONTHS with all of the rain, snow, freezing temps, ect, so it was such a treat to have such a nice day!

We headed to the driving range first to get warmed up...

Well, some more than others.

I MAY have hit 1 out of 10 swings, and after about 300 swings one actually made it to the first flag! I was so excited that I was only semi-terrible! My dad used to take me golfing all the time when I was little (mainly to drive the golf cart), so I know how to hold it, I know the stance, I know what it is SUPPOSED to look like, but daggomit I sure as heck don't know how to make contact with it...

We should have worked on that a little harder, dad.

And I know you're probably thinking, "What in the worrrrld is she wearing?!!"

Yeah, about that...

First of all, all I packed for the mountains were my boots...so there was strike one. And remember that picture from yesterday where I realized my sweater was BLUE and not black?! Well, I got embarrassed...and hot...and took it off.

Let's just say I didn't last too long in front of that crowd...I offered to do what I know how to do best on a golf course...

I went up to get the golf cart.

Chandler and his girlfriend met us up there, and since I would have taken a year and a half to finish one hole, I decided it was best just to watch...

And I sure didn't mind the view! This may be one of my favorite pictures ever...

Himmies was a little bit blinded so he asked for his shades...

They played great!

And by the end of the day the cold was back and I was ready to get by a fire. It was such a fun little outing though...maybe I'll start working on getting better so that I can go play myself...

But Probably not.

Happy Valentine's To Me...

It was a happier Valentine's day with these two for sure...

And here was the combination of what Blake and I got each other...

I'm still on a sugar high.

But remember how I told you that we all found ourselves a little "Happy Valentine's to ourselves" gift in yesterday's post? Well, here was where I found mine...

And this is what I got!

The best part was it was 75% off. The side zipper is my favorite part...

And then I got this too because it was 75% off and I wear my black sweaters like this to death...

Except for the fact that I found out it's not black.

And the only bad part about that is I had already torn the tags off of it before I realized that!

It wasn't until I saw this picture of me (more to come on this outing tomorrow) and said, "BLAKE!! What color is my sweater?!!!" And he said as plain as day, "It's navy, why?"

Apparently I've gone color blind.

Help!
