A HIKE and sweet "baby E"!!

Saturday morning we woke up and headed to Paris Mountain for a hike...and I mean a HIKE. I've got sore muscles in places I never knew existed...

It was quite possibly my favorite thing we've done in forever. It was the most perfect day, we had a coffee in hand and we had great company.

I was a tad worried going with two boys (my husband and brother-in-law) without any girls (NIKKI!!!) for fear that I would completely embarrass myself, so I pulled up the tail-end in case I fell or did anything stupid :)

And we were off...

about 1/16th of a mile in we got to this and I thought to myself, "Oh fantastic! I can handle this kind of hike"

It even had a little hill to climb that I THOUGHT was the "hard part"...

and it ended at this beauty...or so I thought.

We took a few pictures and I thought to myself, "Well, I know I asked Blake to take it easy on my first time, but geez, I didn't know he was thinking THIS easy...I think I can handle this hiking stuff..."

That was what I'll just go ahead and call my "blissful thinking" stage.

I asked, "Is this it?" as to which I immediately thought I should have kept my mouth shut...

"Oh no...we can keep going if you want to" Blake said

"Oh sure! Fantastic! Let's go!!" I said out loud, only hoping to gain a little love from my husband who thinks I'm anything but outdoorsy...I'm on a mission to change that! :)

So we kept on...

and on...

and then he yelled, "HOW YOU DOING BACK THERE?!"

He had to say it loud...I was so far away...

"GREAT! NEVER BEEN BETTER!!" I yelled back thinking what the h*** am I doing out here?!

Finally, after what felt like 16 miles up hill at a 90 degree angle I finally called for a time out...and a picture of course.

If only you could have seen an EKG of my heart at this point...

I've never felt that thing pounding against my chest so hard and so fast in my life...

We finally made it to the top...not to mention level ground.

And apparently I did gain a little love...

We had the best time, and I've never felt better after finishing that thing!

I was so excited the boys let me go...I love hanging out with the two of them!

Next time, however, I will make Nikki cancel her plans so that she can come with me!

That afternoon I was so beyond excited to go see sweet little Baby "E"...also known as Adelyn! Does she look familiar?! You've probably seen her here.

I was so in Heaven! She seriously is the sweetest, most beautiful baby!! I couldn't take my eyes off of her :)

And I loved seeing my sweet Megan!! Isn't she gorgeous?!! We met in 3rd grade when she was the new girl, and I played with her long, beautiful hair during story time. haha!

I love her!

And I love her new little bitty angel just as much!!

Have you ever seen anything sweeter in your life?!

Patty Griffin's Heavenly day is singing in my head...
