Give a little, Take a little

So...when I got married, I knew their would have to be compromising in a lot of different areas. What I forgot to realize was that those things would NEVER go away...E.V.E.R. And if you have a husband like mine you'll just have to conform or break his little heart everytime I tell him "No, I don't want to do that!"

So what's a girl to do when you can't beat 'em?! JOIN 'EM!

Here's what I'm talking about...

If you were to give Blake and I a free weekend to do whatever we wanted...this is what Blake's would look like...

Yes, I know it's beautiful and looks appealing, but I'm usually thinking more along the lines of this... indoors, bug-free, relaxing...you get my picture.

SO...I decided this weekend to try and meet him in the middle. The truth is every single time he begs me to do something "outdoorsy," I resist, wine, whatever... but then I ALWAYS end up LOVING whatever we do. I don't know why I am always so hesitant, but I keep trying to tell him, "I PROMISE I'M TRYING, but you KNOW who you married...this may take some getting used to Mister!!" He has been quite patient with me, and I am so thankful to be married to someone who pushes me, rather than not challenging me at all.

SO while we were playing at the park the other day with the dogs, I was starting to get REALLY bored. He had a golf club (left handed) so I tried hitting it a couple times only to dig up half the field...I'm right handed, thank you. So then I tried hitting the lacross ball with a tennis racket, but let's be honest, there is only so many times you can do that before falling asleep...

Blake, who could see my frustration growing by the second, finally came up to me and said "What would make you want to be here? What would make you ENJOY being here?" I searched my childhood years and the only thing I ever played with was a soccer ball, so I told him I wanted one, and off we went with his giftcard from Christmas and bought one!

we didn't stop there...my adrenaline was rushing and I was feeling pretty confident...so we got one of these too.

I told him if he got me and Teddy a tent we might even try camping again...so we found Teddy a tent, and one for us right below it :)

It was a fun weekend, and we were both worn out by the end of it, so I read my book cover to cover (It was SO GOOD!!) and when I went in to find Blake, this is what I found (seriously not staged)...

Boys will by boys...

In other news...I'm flying to ITHACA, NY tomorrow at 1:30 to see my SISTER and my NEW PRECIOUS NEPHEW!!! I will try to update along the way!

I hope your Monday is not a Monday :)
